New mental health unit completed
The keys have been handed over to a new unit which will transform care provision for mental health patients at Springfield University Hospital in Tooting.
Completed in April for South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, Wandsworth Acute Unit provides accommodation for a psychiatric intensive care unit and an adult acute ward.
The new facility also allows the Trust to bring together disparate members of Community Mental Health Teams to improve the quality of service offered to both patients and their carers.
The project was entrusted to IHP following the successful completion of the Trust’s Phoenix Unit.
